Steve Carson is a seasoned attorney with more than 45 years of experience navigating the intersection of corporate law, securities regulation, and entrepreneurship. His practice encompasses securities law, FINRA compliance, alternative investments, business transactions, oil & gas law, and specialized areas including art, entertainment, and equine law.
Throughout his career, Steve has held senior legal and executive roles in both public and private companies. As General Counsel to Frontier Oilfield Services, Inc. and Director of Legal Affairs for NGAS Resources, Inc. (a NASDAQ-listed oil and gas company), he provided strategic counsel on complex corporate matters. He also served as President and Chief Compliance Officer of NGAS Securities, Inc., where he led efforts that raised over $230 million in capital for direct investment drilling partnerships.
Steve's background includes affiliation with FINRA broker-dealers, holding Series 7, 24, 63, 79, and 99 registrations. Early in his career, he built a strong foundation as a trial attorney, litigating commercial disputes, products liability, medical malpractice, and oil and gas cases in state, federal, and appellate courts. He is also an inventor, holding U.S. Patent 7,184,979 for an innovative dual accounts banking system.
Licensed in Texas and Kentucky, Steve is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Kentucky, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville, where he served on the Law Review and was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa National Honorary Leadership Society.
Outside the office, Steve is an avid art collector and independent film producer. He resides in University Park, Dallas, with his wife, Jessica, and their three children, and is actively involved with the Park Cities Quail Coalition, Dallas Safari Club, and Thoroughbred Club of America.
